Hickey Contractors was established in 1975 when with just a tractor and mower, Stan Hickey started his contracting business that went on to become a thriving household name in the wider Bay of Plenty region. Since then, Hickey’s has contributed immensely to the development of Rotorua’s infrastructure especially.
In 1999 Andrew and Alison Shrimpton purchased Hickey Contractors and further enhanced the range of skills and services of the company over the next 19 years until selling the business to local residents, Seth and Fleur Pardoe in 2018.
Seth has a solid background in business management with over 20 years’ in the civil construction sector. He has been involved in many successful projects across New Zealand and thePacific that have encompassed disciplines such as earthworks, structures, roading, drainage, environmental remediation, demolition, landscaping and rail.
Seth has a collaborative and solutions-oriented approach to working with local businesses, suppliers and clients alike. This includes ECI and design/build type projects, with practical experience in modern construction methods and a proven track record of working with clients and key stakeholders to mitigate challenges involved in working in complex environments.
Mike Chapman joined Hickey Contractors in 2018 as Contracts Manager, and is responsible for day-to-day operational management, programming and sequencing of works, estimating, and procurement. He brings a wealth of local and international expertise to the business with an extensive background in civil infrastructure management and construction.
